A sexy, banterful and breathtaking contemporary romance that promises to never be enough…
Kendall Ryan, you brought it girl! So, I’m a mahoooooosive fan of Ms Ryan. She got me with Resisting Her and Hard to Love, and I have been a sucker for her bold and beautifully sexy plots, heroines and of course her delicious alpha men ever since. She really is nothing short of an incredible writer. Every lingerie mogul out there needs to thank their lucky stars, because she provides them with a lot of business. Yup, I dare you to try and read one of her scorching romances and not have your knickers melted right of you…
So, Sexy Stranger. The title alone made me grin and rejoice, because not only was Ms Ryan back… but from the title alone— she was back with a BANG! Then I got to the blurb, and it was like a red hot summer’s day in the Sahara… at peak time. She got me. Again. Even without opening the book, I was a complete and total sucker for it! However, when I opened the book, there was nothing and no one that could tare me away from it. This book is not just sexy, but the plot is fascinating and gripping. I couldn’t bare to put it down— not for one second. Not for a loo break, tea break… not even to get sleep. It became a drug from the very first page. Every single angle, twist, and turn was meticulously and cunningly planned and followed through. There wasn’t a single time where I felt that the drama was too farfetched. There wasn’t a single minute that the chemistry was lacking and scarce. It was all just fabulous, and if anything I was actually panicked for when Luke’s and Charlotte’s goodbye would come. Because I knew it would. Invariably the shit storm would hit, and I knew that I’d be left in heap of frustrated and sad tears. Lets face it this would not be a magnificent Kendall Ryan book, without the heartache and anguish.
Character wise, I cannot even begin to say how much I just loved this duo. Luke and Charlotte are just hot together. They both have their moments of where they are absolute twats, but in all honesty that just added humour and banter into the dialogue. I found that that was actually what built up a lot of the sexual tension between them. Boy was that tension serious too! It was seriously sweltering hot. But, the chemistry between them actually stems from their personal anguish – even if they aren’t forward and open about how they got to where they are in their present lives, the hurt of what has brought them there is what makes them so right for one another. The “thing” that they don’t know is binding them to each other is the “thing” that they won’t divulge to one another. Rather clever that. Three cheers for Ms Ryan on that little Machiavellian trick. These two were just phenomenal. Not only do they balance each other out, but they challenge each other to that next level… in and out of the bedroom.
The sex was blazing hot and highly arousing. I will forever swoon whenever a bottle Maple syrup is in the vicinity. Yup, if my knickers hadn’t disintegrated before then…christ! If I’m honest, what made the sex hot, and so very erotic, was that although it was no strings attached, it actually wasn’t that way for either of them from the off. The only way to describe it thoroughly is to say that they are soulmates. Even when they aren’t aware, and certainly don’t intend on it, there are always emotions and feelings surrounding them. But when you have two strong characters like them, there will always be BIG feelings involved – and the way in which Kendall Ryan has manipulated every single interaction, every single word uttered to one another… is just spectacular. Truly a testament to her writing skills.
It’s safe to say that I just loved Sexy Stranger. It was everything that the title and blurb promised to be, and more. The sex appeal from both of the characters was breathtaking and their strength mesmerising. I’m completely struggling with a way in which to get over this story and these beautiful characters. I would actually love to have more of not only Luke and Charlotte, but also Molly and Duke. I’d love to get to know them properly now, because Duke is just a mystery all of his own that I’d love to discover…
