An exciting and heart stopping read…

I don’t quite know how it happens, but I continuously get introduced to authors that I haven’t come across before. Every single time it happens I get a excited by the prospect of more happy reading, and let me tell you – Light of Day was most certainly very happy reading. The plot was refreshing and intriguing, and so completely original. The twists were riveting and oh so gripping whilst the characters themselves were empathiseable and endearing. The character development was just beautiful and impeccably done. Both Dana and James are strong and sturdy characters. Don’t get me wrong at times Edward really grated on me with the way he treated Dana and quite frankly I just wanted to punch him in the throat. However this is so smart on Thompson’s part because it shines a light on on his demons. At first I found Dana a little irritating, her relationship with James at times seemed a little far-fetched, over the top and quite frankly it just felt wrong. I really liked James, so it made their give and take a little uneasy and unfair.

Although this isn’t a graphic book, there some elements of D/s that can make someone not that way inclined uncomfortable. However, I personally found the sexual interactions tame. Don’t get me wrong they were hot and arousing, but they din’t make my toes curl.

Quite frankly what kept me glued to this book was the plot. The twists and turns were nothing short of exhilarating and although the ending was somewhat predictable the stonker of the cliffhanger that Thompson leaves you with is just heart stopping. Needless to say that I need to get my hands on the next book… STAT!

About the Author

I’m twenty-eight, a wife, a mother to three children and the author of the Daylight Series. Currently my writing career consists of five books, the Daylight trilogy, Hell Hath no Fury and Silver Bells, Curses and Spells. All of them are published and can be found on most eBook platforms. I’ve also contributed a couple of short stories to charity anthology Shivers and Lace. When I was younger, I never dreamed of being an author—I think I wanted to be a pop star or actress these were pretty farfetched dreams, so I settled for being an accountant or marine biologist. My grades at school were abysmal and not worthy of a mention, I also never went on to higher education. I have absolutely no qualifications in creative writing or any similar subjects, but I have a very overactive imagination and I’m an avid reader of all genres of fiction.
