A sweet, sassy and sweltering love story sure to melt your heart…

I always get awfully excited when Layla Hagen announces a new book in her Bennett Family series. You know that heart palpitating and butterfly inducing excitement? That’s the one. The reason why is quite simple, Hagen has an uncanny knack for making you fall in love with not just her characters but also with the plot itself. You go in knowing the path the plot is going to take, but yet you just can’t help but want to go on that journey because the promise to be swept off your feet and fall undeniably in love with her heroes and heroines will never ever be broken. Layla Hagen’s writing is like a massive bowl of comfort food, once you start you can’t put it down till it’s finished and your insides are left feeling warm and fuzzy like basking in the sun on a warm Summer’s day.

Your Alluring Love had me from the off. I’ve been waiting for Alice’s story in I don’t even know how long… She’s been my favourite character since she was first mentioned way back when. What I loved about This book is that I already had some insight into the two protagonists. Obviously Nate has only been mentioned in passing and so I almost felt like we were strangers on train, you know like when you get regular snippets of a person on a train and so you know little bits of them but they’re still strangers? Well, that’s how I felt about Nate before I even started the book. To my surprise, I think Nate Becker just knocked Christopher Bennett from the top spot. I have a new favourite. Don’t get me wrong, Christopher is hot. HOT. Hawt. H.O.T… but Nate, I don’t know he’s cheeky and soft with a dominant streak and dirty tongue. He packs heat, and although he has an ego – obviously – he’s also grounded and he has this consuming charm that even as reader you get suckered in hook, line and sinker! Literally you are left hanging on every. single. motherf***ing word. The fact that he also doesn’t have any deep dark skeletons way in the back close to Narnia is a breath of fresh air and the same time makes him even more alluring.  He really is a Prince Charming with wit, cheek and whole whole lot of sex appeal.

As I said before Alice Bennett has had me on tenterhooks for her story since she came on the scene. This chick has so much spunk and bravado that she has you smiling almost every single time she’s on the page. So, I knew that Your Alluring Love was going to be making me all kinds of giggly, smiley, chirpy… I knew that the banter and the back and forth was going to be sweltering and at the same time sweet. This heroine packs punch, sass and deliciousness in one petite scorching package… Girl Crush alert! What was fabulous about the dynamic between Alice and Nate was that the whole brother’s best friend and family friend thing wasn’t this massive storm in a teeny tiny teacup. Yes, the tension was there from that minor aspect – but it was so downplayed that it didn’t set the tone to their story, which I think is what made this such a different and unique take on the whole “falling in love with your best friend’s little sister” storyline. In short, this really made the plot a standout within the whole “forbidden romance” sub-genre. Layla Hagen deserves so much praise for the route that she took with this plot. It really shouldn’t come as a surprise considering just how impeccable her writing skill is, on another level really, and as for her plot and character development… WOWzers! Here’s the clever thing about Hagen, although the story centres around Nate and Alice and it’s their story – Hagen continues to interweave the other Bennett family members through it to the point that it feels that you’re still reading their books and getting a glimpse of those to come. You with me? It’s development gold.

I just about combusted with the heat from this book. The chemistry and intensity… the ardour that these two have for each other is nothing short of scorching. It really is a no holds barred seduction on both of their parts. Although they think that they’re tearing down each others’ walls, what they don’t realise is that when they come together there are no walls. They liberate each other of preconceptions, expectations and fear… doubts. It’s a beautiful thing to see happening because it makes every kiss mean so much more, it makes the sex represent a lot more and even the little everyday actions become as delectable as the sex itself. If that makes sense?

I just couldn’t get enough of Your Alluring Love. When I reached the epilogue I actually cringed at the prospect that the book was coming to an end. I wasn’t ready for it to finish, because just as I had hoped Alice and Nate’s story was just the bomb, and I want more of them. Hell, there’s a novella waiting for them and their happily ever after… that would actually make me super duper uber happy. Just saying. That’s all…

About the Book

*A sizzling romance from a USA Today Bestselling Author*

Alice Bennett has been holding a torch for her older brother’s best friend, Nate, for more than a decade. He’s a hotshot TV producer who travels the world, never staying in San Francisco for too long. But now he’s in town and just as tempting as ever… with a bossy streak that makes her weak in the knees and a smile that can melt ice—or at the very least, her defenses.

As a successful restaurant owner, Alice is happy with her life. She loves her business and her family, yet after watching her siblings find their happy ever after, she can’t help feeling lonely sometimes—but that’s only for her to know.

Nate has always had a soft spot for Alice. Despite considering the Bennetts his family, he never could look at her as just his friend’s little sister. She’s a spitfire, and Nate just can’t stay away. He loves making her laugh… and blush.

Their attraction is irresistible, and between stolen kisses and wicked-hot nights, they form a deep bond that has them both yearning for more.

But when the chance of a lifetime comes knocking at his door, will Nate chase success even if it means losing Alice, or will he choose her?

“Let me do the dirty work from time to time. You’re mine, Alice. That means I’ll protect you from anyone, even if you don’t want me to. I’ll protect you especially when you don’t want me to because it’s when you need it most.” Before I can reply, he steps right in front of me. “You understand? You are mine.”

I shake my head. “You’re stubborn and possessive.”

“Sounds like I’m a catch.”

“I didn’t mean those as compliments,” I inform him, crossing my arms over my chest.

“That’s how they sounded to me.”

“How do you figure?”

“You can easily rephrase that to determined and protective. Both positive traits.”

Despite my annoyance, my lips twitch with a hint of a smile.

“I won’t apologize for wanting to protect you.”

“I wasn’t really expecting you to,” I reply, disarmed by his passion and honesty. “But I’m warning you, I’m still mad at you.”

“I’m counting on it, darling. In fact, hold on to the anger until we get home. Unless you want to leave now?”

“No, the event isn’t over.” I’m a little suspicious of his sudden good mood. “Why do you want me to hold on to the anger?”

“Because there’s a kind of sex I’m dying to try with you.”

“What kind is that?”

He wiggles his eyebrows, leaning in. “Make-up sex.”
