Decadent… Sensual… Forbidden…

12 Masters. 12 Desires. 12 Fantasies Come to Life. Meet the Masters of Blasphemy…

I like Laura Kaye. A lot. Her writing style just fits me as reader. It may seem like a crazy notion, but that’s me – I am a little cuckoo. Anyway, when I received the advanced copy for Mastering Her Senses it was like my mind did that excitable hand rub. Everything about this book appealed to me. From the BDSM element to the premise… to the characters. Everything just screamed READ ME to me. Normally when I start a book I have this niggle at the back of my mind that tries to put a dampener on everything and make me question the book before I’ve even opened it – but that sucker was gagged and all tied up as soon as this book hit my kindle!

‘It’s really life changing when you find other people who get you…’

Mastering Her Senses isn’t particularly dark and heavy, although there are glimpses of darker play. So, if you are someone that finds BDSM fascinating this book will grip you from the beginning to the very end. Laura Kaye doesn’t beat around the bush and skirt the perimeters, she digs right into the story. Which is one of my favourite things about her writing style. I personally enjoy learning about the characters’ past throughout the present story rather than having it all dictated to you in a prologue.

‘…fuck, her submission, so readily and beautifully given, was a heady thing… it really fucking was.’

I found both Quinton and Cassia really well rounded characters and I really loved that although Cassia has her demons, she’s still a solid and strong leading lady. I actually think that there’s something really empowering about her character- I don’t know whether it’s her tenacity to get her life back and overcome her fears combined with her submissive side. I really loved the contrast of her traits. To me she was just the pièce de résistance of the entire book. Don’t get me wrong Quinton is a sexy standout alpha and his character just fits so well with Cassia’s, and although the pair of them are multifaceted there’s just something about her character that really called to me.

‘… life and love were fucking messy sometimes, and the beauty of it all was in making someone else’s life better with kindness and care…’

Due to the nature of this book, I knew that it was going to be sex heavy – I am not complaining! – but, Laura Kaye really found a balance for it. It doesn’t scream sexfest, but it maintain’s this intense erotic draw. In my opinion Quinton being into sense-deprivation play was a really clever thing on Kaye’s part because it kept the heat tantalising without it getting too porno-ey. If that makes sense? She provided enough heat to make it erotic all the way through, but every sexual interaction was interwoven with the story. Every touch had a purpose and not just in the arousing sense – because if there is one thing this book does is arouse.

“You got me, baby.” Understatement of the century…

I absolutely enjoyed, loved and wanted more of Quinton’s and Cassia’s love story. It was so well executed and had just the right balance of light and dark to keep it a light read. It’s such a pity that it is more of a short read, but in reality all that means is that you can fit it in as many times as you like! Which will be happening…

‘I am yours and you are mine, and we are each other’s. There’s no one else in this. Ever.’

Mastering Her Senses is OUT NOW and it will blow your mind!

About the Book

12 Masters. Infinite fantasies. Welcome to Blasphemy…

He wants to dominate her senses—and her heart…

Quinton Ross has always been a thrill-seeker—so it’s no surprise that he’s drawn to extremes in the bedroom and at his BDSM club, Blasphemy, where he creates sense-depriving scenarios that blow submissives’ minds. Now if he could just find one who needs the rush as much as him…

When an accident leaves Cassia Locke with a paralyzing fear of the dark, she’ll try anything to get help. Ready to fight, she knows just who to ask for help—the hard-bodied, funny-as-hell Dom she’d always crushed on—and once stood up.

Quinton is shocked and a little leery to see Cassia, but he can’t pass up the chance to dominate the alluring little sub this time. Introducing her to sensory deprivation becomes his new favorite obsession, and watching her fight fear is its own thrill. But when doubt threatens to send her running again, Quinton must find a way to master her senses—and her heart.
