Helen Hardt’s Steel Brothers Saga continues…
Helen Hardt is back! From the moment I read the very last word of Melt, I was crazy with anticipation for Burn. So, when I was sent the novel to review, you can imagine just how elated I was. Poor Kayne was subjected to my stupid-arse, excited girl jig that is actually pretty painful to watch. Poor guy.
‘…I was going somewhere to take my life back… take myself back…’
So, Burn… Burn is the fifth book in the Steel Brothers Saga. If you want to know more about the previous books you can check out my series review, however, I would highly recommend that you read the previous books in the series prior to Burn. You wouldn’t want to miss out on Talon and Jade’s story from their POV. Burn picks up where Melt left off, and it does so in a grand way. If you’re familiar with Helen Hardt’s writing you’ll know that it’s flawless and that it has a way of tying you to the story… it just feels like you are a part of the words on the pages – that you are fully immersed in her world. It’s such a beautiful feeling to have; being a part of someone’s story (fictional or not), however, the real magic is when you feel yourself become one with a character. It’s something that I cherish entirely because to me it’s not an every read occurrence. But this is what makes me resonate with Hardt’s writing and what makes her a word magician!
‘No one had ever felt so good against me, as if she were cut perfectly to fit my mold … I knew no one ever would again.’
As a reader I find that no series that I love are consistent. By this I mean that there’s always one book that I enjoy over the others – however, with the Steel Brothers Saga I’ve found that I love the next book as much as the last and to me Burn is as gripping and lip-bite inducing as it’s fore-comers. Helen Hardt’s ability to tell Talon Steel’s story through other characters, AND whilst telling their stories is astonishing. To be able to harness and execute her characters’ emotions so that you, as the reader, are living every action, every twist and turn with them should be an impossible feat – but it is one that this masterful writer accomplishes.
‘I longed to show more of the darker side of my desires…’
Oh… the sex. The. Sex. Sex… sex… sex… So, the sex. No one does unrestrained and uninhibited sex like this lady. Me oh my… I can feel my cheeks getting hotter and my pulse quickening just at the thought of a Steel fuck. I’m not even joking. This woman does not do shy and timid. The sex is hot, sweaty, steamy, sultry… no holds barred… get my drift? No? Let’s just say that Jonah Steel will leave you all tied up… sexually, emotionally…
‘Your body is perfect. I love every inch of it. You are beautiful. So fucking beautiful.’
I can’t praise Helen enough on Burn. The only thing that I can say is that she has left me craving and needing more. Getting to that last word left me speechless and feeling like an junkie needing to feed their addiction. Because that is exactly what Helen Hardt’s writing is. A drug. Of the best kind.
Burn is OUT NOW and ready to sweep you right of your feet this Valentines Day!
‘She couldn’t leave me. She just couldn’t. I would not allow it. I wouldn’t survive.’
About the Book
Jonah Steel is knee deep into trying to solve the mystery surrounding his family and his brother’s abduction, and the arrival of his best friend has complicated the situation…although not as much as his infatuation with his brother’s therapist, Dr. Melanie Carmichael. The quiet humility of the blond beauty has him enthralled, and he burns for her as he never has for any woman.
Melanie Carmichael is intelligent and driven, yet filled with regret. She has fallen in love with gorgeous Jonah Steel, but fears she may never be able to tell him. The demons from her past have come for her…and she may not get out alive.
